First Thursday - May 2014

Image
In spite of the rain and cold all week long, last night was dry so I headed to Dulono's Pizza for First Thursday.  I took the Sportster, which was a bold choice given the thick cloud cover, threat of rain, and fact I removed the rear fender (it will be replaced soon).  I couldn't believe there was cars in the Dulono's lot on First Thursday - so weird! The crowd was really small when I arrived but I liked this Triumph. After checking out the bikes at Dulono's (it didn't take long), I headed across the street to the VFW to check out Moto Mania .  Those pics are up next.

2014 Rockers Spring Social - May 17th

Image
The Rockers Spring Social Motorcycle Show presented by Ton-Up Minneapolis is less than 3 weeks away.  It will be held Saturday, May 17th at Club Jäger in Minneapolis (Registration 1-4pm, Awards 5pm, Music 6pm). Don't miss it if you like customized European and Japanese cafe racers.  I went last year and bounced back and forth between that show and the Chopper Art Show, which made for a good day.  Click here for my blog posts.

First Thursday This Thursday

Image
Yep, it's almost the first Thursday of the month again so that means bike night at Dulono's Pizza .  The forecast looks wet but maybe we'll luck out.  Last month it snowed but I'd rather not think about that. To coincide with the First Thursday festivities, this month is scheduled to be the first ever Moto Mania at the VFW near Dulono's.  More details on this post .

Graffiti Series Part 20 - Road King

After the Donnie Smith Show (yes, I'll post photos eventually), I took a ride and I stopped at one of my favorite places to take photos, the Intermedia Arts building in Uptown.  There was still some snow on the ground and the chrome bubble shield on my Biltwell Gringo made for some fun shots.

Flood Run - Spring 2014

Image
The 2014 Spring Flood Run was cold but definitely warmer than last year.  I layered up and rode my Road King.  I left the windshield at home and opted for my Gringo and smoke bubble shield. I arrived at the Beach Bar a little before 10am, snapped a few photos and left before the crowd (the run officially starts at 10:30). I arrived in Diamond Bluff while vendors were still busy setting up at the Nauti Hawg . I continued south to Maiden Rock.  There was a strong wind off the lake and waves were crashing against the shore. In my opinion, the Wisconsin side of the run is much better than the Minnesota side.  I prefer the roads, the views, and the towns. I reached the southern point of the run, Winona, MN. I headed north on the Minnesota side for a little bit but cut back into Wisconsin at Nelson.  At this point, the towns were quite busy and the sun had come out but that was short-lived.  As I continued north it got ...
