Gophers and Cheese

In case you've been living under a rock, the 2nd Annual Mama Tried Show was this past weekend in Milwaukee, WI.  I didn't go last year but was so glad I didn't miss out this year.  It was incredible and I had a lot of fun.  After an icy and snowy drive to get out of Minnesota, the weather and roads improved greatly in Wisconsin.  After a stop in the Dells for Dunkin Donuts and a stop in Madison for pizza and vintage arcade games (seriously, I cannot recommend this place enough), I made it to Milwaukee and headed to the Harley-Davidson Museum . With about 2 hours until the pre-party show, I took some time to walk through the museum and get some dinner.  I visited the museum for the first time last March and it was sensory overload.  I took a ton of photos and have only managed to post photos of one bike so far ( click here ).  Last time I was there, Josh Kurpius ' "Living Lost" exhibit was on display, which was excellent.  I even ran into...

Just received DicE Issue 50 today.  The photography in the new, larger format looks beautiful.  Great job guys!!!  That said, I have to admit that I'm bummed that it's the last issue with Dr. Glory.

I love seeing a manila envelope in my mailbox since it usually means the latest issue of DicE Magazine has arrived.  A bonus is the rare occasion when there is free stuff included for subscribers.  Issue #43 came with a free patch!  From crayons to 3D glasses to beer koozies to stickers, you never know what you're going to get and that's awesome. It's a little surprising that there is no apostrophe in "Lets".  It should be "Let's".  I thought people in England were supposed to be better at grammar than us yanks.  Regardless, the intended sentiment comes through just fine and I'd still wear it.

I always look forward to new issues of DicE and Show Class arriving in the mail.  

DicE Issue 40... I love DicE 's cover artwork.  This issue is no exception.  The texture used on the cover tricks your brain into thinking it's an actual tile mosaic when you touch it.

I've got a good motorcycle trip coming up...  I'll be heading up north to do some riding & fishing with my father.  I'll ride my Sportster and he'll be riding my Road King (I'll let him haul most of the gear). We're going to stay at a place on the Gunflint Trail .  I've never ridden that far north and I haven't fished in over 15 years.  Should be a great time. Bought these stickers from DicE .  At least one will end up somewhere on one of the bikes or my toolbox to commemorate the trip.

The latest issue of DicE Magazine arrived last week along with a free beer coozie!!! I love cool free stuff.

The last 13 posts covered the DicE / Church of Choppers / Kung Fu Tap and Taco party in Des Moines, IA on June 11th.  I posted everything in color the first time, which is a little unusual for me since I like to post a lot in black and white.  While you may have seen the color versions already, here are some of my favorites in B&W. What an awesome weekend!  Hope you enjoyed all the photos.
