Recent pics of the Sportster at the old drive-in in Houlton, WI.

After buying my new jacket last Saturday, I rode to Stillwater and, to my surprise, P.D. Pappy's was open!!! I talked to the bartender and she said Friday was their first day of the season and that, due to the unusually nice weather, they decided to open the outdoor patio on weekend days, weather permitting.  It's a great idea since the place doesn't normally open until May. I then crossed into Wisconsin and took some pics by the old drive-in theater in Houlton. Then I spent some time getting lost on the alphabet roads of Wisconsin before heading home.

On Sunday, while out riding and enjoying the beautiful weather, I stopped at one of my favorite places to take photos of my bikes, the old St.Croix Hilltop Drive-In (now drive-in church) in Houlton, WI.  I hadn't taken a set of photos of the Sporty there since swapping the headlight.  Here are some high-tech retro photo effects to complement the genuinely retro headlight.

I've been playing with the Camera+ app on my iPhone.  I've taken a few photos and given them a very retro feel, which I think is pretty cool.  It's nothing new - you'll see similar stuff all over the web.  I added the text on my PC, not with the app. Here are some pics of the Sportster at the drive-in: Here's one with a different effect: ... and here's a shot of the Road King from the frigid 2011 Spring Flood Run:

The weather is really crappy here this weekend but I got some fantastic shots of the Sportster at the old St.Croix Hilltop Drive-In (now drive-in church) in Houlton, WI when the weather was nice.  The sky was blue, the grass was green, and bright yellow dandelions were everywhere.  It made for some great pics.

After my adventures on gravel just north of Taylors Falls last Sunday, I crossed into Wisconsin, headed south and stopped in Osceola, WI.  I walked down to Cascade Falls and also followed the trail all the way out to the river.  It was nice, except for the large number of mosquitoes that chewed me up. After the long climb back up the stairs, I stopped in PY's Saloon & Grill for a refreshment.  Then I headed south and stopped at the St. Croix Hilltop Drive-In for some pictures.

It's only because I like this set of pics so much that I will break with tradition and actually post the full color versions.  Check my previous post for black-and-whites.

I got some really great pictures of my Sportster in Houlton, WI at the St. Croix Hilltop Drive-In on Sunday.  There are ridges where you would be able to park your car at an angle to see the movie screen.  I was able to park on one of those ridges and get really low to take the pics.  I love the way they turned out. Here's a set of my favorites in black-and-white.  I like them so much I'll even post color versions (yes, color) tomorrow.
