Gophers and Cheese FAQs:

What is Gophers and Cheese?

Gophers and Cheese is an original-content Minneapolis-based motorcycle blog focused on riding and events in Minnesota and Wisconsin. With very rare exception (such as event flyers), all of the photos and written content are completely unique and original to this site.

Why did you start the site?

I bought my first motorcycle (my 2004 Sportster) in 2006 and have been hooked ever since. I started the blog in 2010 because (1) I found it really difficult to find out what events were going on locally and (2) I just really like to take photos.

What does the name "Gophers and Cheese" mean?

The blog's name "Gophers and Cheese" simply refers to Minnesota (The Gopher State) and Wisconsin (America's Dairyland), which is where I do the vast majority of my riding. It's a strange name for a motorcycle blog, but it keeps me (and everyone else) from taking it too seriously.

Who drew the artwork in the logo?

The gopher riding a chopper holding a giant wedge of cheese was drawn by the incredibly talented Shawn Dickinson back in 2013.  I grew up loving Looney Tunes (still do) and Shawn's style fits that vibe perfectly.

Do you sell stuff (t-shirts, stickers, photos)?

I used to sell t-shirts and stickers and still have some stashed away if you're really interested.  As for photos, if you see something you like, yes, I will sell you digital files which will be higher quality than what is on the site.  Just reach out via the Contact page.
