Gophers and Cheese

This past Saturday, I took a 2-hour drive down to Austin, MN to check out the Build Art Bike Show . Andy Hull from Hold Fast Motors ( Facebook , Website ) organized the event as a fundraiser with some help from Relic Kustoms .  It was a very small show (only 6 bikes upstairs and 13 on the main floor) but the location was really cool and I ended up spending hours there and took over 300 photos.  Based on everything I've heard since, the show was a big success. Along with bikes and art, there was a movie room set up upstairs... ...and an old bar in the basement (but the basement wasn't part of the show): The main floor had the majority of bikes, art, and there was beer and wine for sale. Art was hung on the walls and much of it was for sale. The bikes were very diverse and included many of my local favorites. I really loved the location and the light through all the big windows made it fun to take photos. Andy's bike is up next.  Here...

The 27th Annual Donnie Smith Bike Show is this weekend and will include a car show for the time too.  Don't miss it! I have lots of blog posts featuring tons of photos from the past few years on my Guide To Local Events page.  This will be my 7th consecutive year attending.

This post wraps up my coverage of the 2013 Bearded Lady Motorcycle Freak Show .  It was my 4th straight year attending and I can't recommend it enough.  16 posts and nearly 250 photos is a little ridiculous though.  It's no wonder I procrastinated for 8 months.  I'll leave you with two bikes... a Buell and my Sportster. The blog is four years old today!!!  It's getting very close to having 1,000 posts and 200,000 page views.  This should be a big year!  As always, thanks for visiting!

The Evo Sportsters continue right now... and this one is horny. I remember seeing this one at Rumble on the Deck and it's fantastic. Cool girder front end. Scallops. A touch of bronze: I've seen this bike a bunch of time around town.  I'm always drawn to what appears to be some sort of chain steering damper but this bike is full of little details. This bike is fuckin' classy.  It says so right on the oil bag cover. Wang Dangler: There's only one more 2013 Bearded Lady post left but you'll have to wait until Tuesday.  Tomorrow's a special day.
