Here are more photos from the 2012 Rumble on the Deck Bike Show in Stillwater.  The last post featured bikes competing in the actual show but, like most bike shows, the motorcycles in the parking lot are often just as interesting, if not more so. Here's a great looking old panhead: If that's too modern for you, maybe this is more your speed.  I love that I have the opportunity to see this bike all the time and it still seems to be ridden hard. I recently saw this bike at First Thursday.  The surfboard in Minnesota is hard to forget. I liked this bike's tank and other details: Nice details on this bagger.  I particularly like the pinned tank art. Ma Rad's 17th Annual Rumble on the Deck Chopper Show took place on Thursday, July 13th, 2012 at the Freight House Restaurant in Stillwater, MN. It was my third year attending.  Unfortunately, I was sick recently and still didn't feel 100% so I couldn't stay too long.  The Freight House was packed but, in my opinion, the bikes on display were not up to the same level as the last two years.  Don't get me wrong, there were still really nice bikes on display and in the parking lot but maybe the threat of rain kept some people home.  Maybe people were holding out for the Full Tilt or Bearded Lady shows.  I'm really not sure. I like Rumble on the Deck and definitely recommend going but find it a difficult show to take pictures at because the deck gets so packed with people and bikes.  I find myself taking more detailed close-ups than full-bike photos.  For example, here's a beautiful vintage Harley... ... and a vintage Triumph.  I really...

It's been over 2 weeks since my last post.  Sadly, it's not because I was doing something cool or traveling to somewhere awesome like Born Free 4.  I was home on the couch sick and it sucked.  Anyway, I'm feeling a lot better. I'll get a few pics from last night's Rumble on the Deck up shortly and I plan to head over to Full Tilt tomorrow.  Bearded Lady is next Saturday.  Get excited!!!

I saved the oldest for last.  Here's my last set of photos from the 2012 Viking Chapter of the AMCA's Motorcycle Show . The bike that caught my eye as soon as I walked in was this 1912 Harley Davidson X8A.  It's 100 years old and beautifully restored.  I wouldn't have a clue how to start this thing but I'd bet it would be fun to ride. Another 1912 was this Wagner Single Belt Drive: A bike that was a similar age but was clearly not restored was this 1913 Indian Model G: Not all bikes of this age are museum pieces.  This 1914 Harley Davidson Two Speed Twin was recently ridden cross-country in the Cannonball Endurance Run in 2010. Overall, it was a great show with a lot of interesting bikes on display.  Be sure to check it out next year!

Yes, I took a lot of photos at the 2012 Antique Motorcycle Show at the State Fairgrounds.  Here are some more. 1934 Harley Davidson Flathead R.  I like the tank art. 1926 Harley Davidson JD: 1942 Harley Davidson WLA: The one above looks quite a bit different from this 1942 Harley Davidson WLA below. 1934 Harley Davidson Model CB.  I recently saw this one at Dulono's for First Thursday. Even more photos from the Viking Chapter of the AMCA's Vintage Motorcycle Show in St Paul... I've already shown quite a few photos of American and Japanese bikes so here are some English ones.  First up is an extreme close-up of a 1970 BSA Lightning 650: Triumph: 1966 Triton: A pair of Norton Commandos: 1942 Royal Enfield WD/CO: The rain had caused the outdoor swap meet area to be muddy which seemed to keep people away.  Here's a Triumph from Blue Cat Motors .
