Forgotten Star Bike Night and FTB 3D Book Release, August 2026

The first week of August was a busy one!  Forgotten Star was Tuesday, Heavy Thursday was (of course) Thursday, and Chariots of the Gods was Saturday.  It was the perfect week to release my first-ever photo book but it was a scramble to make that happen.

I don't remember the exact inspiration, but I started experimenting with 3D photos at TCV's Good Times Truck-In in June.  After seeing the potential, I repurposed some old cameras and put together a custom dual-camera rig just in time for Full Tilt Boogie in July.  It was very experimental.  I had no idea if the photos I was taking would work out.  What's cool is it was real stereoscopic photography with two lenses side-by-side, no photo filters, editing tricks, or AI.  The end result was a totally different set of Full Tilt photos from what I've already posted here on the blog, all in 3D, and only available in print.

There are a lot of ways to create and view 3D photos but the delightfully retro, low-tech solution of print with red/blue 3D glasses is what I decided to focus on.  I put them into a small book and had 100 copies printed just 2 weeks after Full Tilt!  Forgotten Star bike night was the first chance for anyone to get one.  If you missed it and want one, head over to The Cheese Shop to see if any are left.

Hard to tell from a still photo, but I had the Full Tilt logo on a spring so it was bouncing around with a super-cheesy 3D effect.

Honk!  Enough about the book! This motorcycle-loving goose wants to see bike night photos!

The weather was beautiful and bike night was packed.

Ride to bike, bike to bike, bike to live... or something.  What am I looking at?

If you're gonna bring 4 wheels to bike night, these are two very respectable options:

Life is Piss!!!

Luke grabbed a copy of the book!

The Litas host a fun bike night.  The next one is September 1st.  If I have any books left, maybe I'll set up a table again.
