I headed to Full Tilt Boogie on Saturday and met up with friends and members of Twin City Vans at Point Douglas Park across the river from Prescott, WI.
Just before I left, I made a set of magnetic plate covers. I put a piece of steel behind each plate to give the covers something the magnets could grab. I cut the graphics out of vinyl. I chopped the rear down so you can still read my "Keep On Truckin" license plate frame. They are easy to attach and detatch and I just need to remember to remove them before driving on public roads.
I led the cruise down WI-35 and then, just past Diamond Bluff, we cut north on County Rd O. I love those roads (especially on a motorcycle) and they're really curvy, though County Rd O was a little bumpy for some of the older vans in the convoy. Thankfully, I'm running newer Bilsteins on my Dodge.
After our little cruise, we rolled into the Gas Lite together.
I brought my Evil Monkey and my Harley-DavidSchwinn in the back of the van (the sissy bar is removable - it wasn't sticking out of the vent, though that would have been hilarious).
It was a beautiful clear day and hot in the sun. Thankfully, the wildfire smoke wasn't bad like it was just a few days earlier.
All sorts of games happened in the main field; slow race, chopper drags, mini bike racing, and the crowd favorite, weenie bite.
Spectators lined the game field and you can see all the vans in the background.
As usual, the show area was full of choppers, customs, vintage, and garage-built bikes.
Anyone was welcome but not all bikes fit the theme and could park in the show field so there was plenty of other parking available if you rolled up on a bagger or stock bike.
People had camping setups all over so you had to walk around and explore to see all the cool bikes and vans that were tucked away.
I parked my Harley-DavidSchwinn on the edge of the show field. I was riding it around briefly but snapped the master link so I wrapped the chain around the handlebars and left it there.
We had a solid lineup of vans.
Some hot rods were there too.
