Donnie Smith Bike Show, March 2010 (Expanded and in Color)
Yep, I've dug back into the archives for another one. I went to the Donnie Smith Bike Show in 2010, just a few days after starting this blog. My early blogposts contained a lot fewer photos and I posted everything in black-and-white. You can see my original coverage of the 2010 Donnie Smith show here. Fast-forward 15 years and here we are. I wanted to revisit some of these shows from the past, post color photos, and eventually put them in YouTube slideshows... for reasons unclear to everyone including myself. Enough back-story, let's start the new year by re-living 2010!
Love the [dead] Winne-the-Pooh bike. I got better photos of the artwork at other events. Just search for pooh.
Pint glass velocity stack seems like a bad idea but looks pretty good.
Haha.
Custom Vincent:
Kevin Baas' bikes:
Elvis!
The peak of the large rear tire trend?
Super-cool drag bike:
Black Copper:
Knobby tires and fork gaiters looking good.
I'm used to seeing XLCRs in black when I do see them (which is very rare).
There's a lot going on here, especially for a knucklehead.
3-wheeled Sporty:
The swap meet is always worth a look.
Very cool panhead:
Old school:
Hell of a road trip:
I've seen this Buell in the wild many times. Very cool bike.
No, I am not tough enough to ride this.
Early days of the big front wheel bagger craze.
Headlight decals:
Mini choppers:
Some custom bicycles:
Well, that wraps up the 2010 Donnie Smith Bike Show... again... but expanded and in color this time! Don't miss this year's show March 28 & 29th, 2026. Who knows, maybe I'll even post color photos of it before we get to the 2040s. Maybe.
