Sunday At The Joint

On Sunday I took the Sporty for a ride downtown to The Joint.  It was a really nice day.  Here you can see part of the Minneapolis skyline from the parking lot.

Flood Run - Fall 2010 - Part 3

We went a little father south of Maiden Rock (near Pepin, I think) before turning around and heading back north.

Here's a shot somewhere along WI-35.  Note the view in the mirror.

We rode for nearly an hour back to Prescott, WI where we stopped at the No Name Saloon.

This ironhead Sportster seemed to have truckbed liner for paint.

Check out the dog just hanging out in the sidecar.

This red and white panhead was immaculate.

Flood Run - Fall 2010 - Part 2

After lunch in Red Wing (the bacon cheeseburgers at Roxx were awesome) and a fun stop in Hager City, we headed south towards Maiden Rock, WI.

Along the way, we chased the trains that run along WI-35.

The scenery along WI-35 is really nice.  I like all the little towns along the way.

Here's the Road King parked in Maiden Rock.

While I thought the saddlebags were a bit much, I liked the tank on this bike.  It was black with red accents.

Waiting for the train to pass...

The scenery in Maiden Rock is absolutely beautiful.

This rider and passenger had spikes on their jackets to match their bike.

I love seeing old bikes actually being ridden and enjoyed.  Sadly, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even know how to start one of these antiques.  It doesn't mean I wouldn't love to learn.

The live music was pretty good - a mix of new and old covers.

Here's an Easy Rider Captain America bike replica...

Flood Run - Fall 2010 - Part 1

The 2010 Fall Flood Run was last weekend and it was a lot of fun.  This was my fifth time doing the run.  The weather was cold (high of 60 but started in the upper 40s).  It was a little cloudy early but actually turned into quite a nice day.  I took the Road King and rode with a friend of mine.

We started in Lake St. Croix Beach, MN at the Beach Club where we bought our wristbands and some coffee.

We left just before the official start to avoid the rush, rode through Prescott and stopped at the Nauti Hawg in Diamond Bluff, WI.

Here are two rat bikes that I found interesting:

This CB750 had a lot of nice details.

As a new father, I have been wondering what the best way would be to one day carry my daughter on the bike.  This guy has it all figured out - one kid holding on from behind and one sitting squarely on the tank.  Father of the year... and my new hero.

This is either a very bold fashion statement or this lady is being attacked by a fox.

Graffiti Series Part 4 - Road King

Last Sunday, after the trip through Taylors Falls and Osceola, I headed down to Hudson before heading back west to the Twin Cities.

I stopped at the same graffiti wall I had stopped at with the Sportster on the day before.  It was late in the day so the sun was lower so the light was not quite as good.  I think the perfect time and weather for taking pictures at this spot would be early morning and sunny, just after a heavy rainfall so the ground would be reflective.  Anyway, here are the pics.
