Mark your calendar...  Full Tilt Boogie Chopper Show is officially on again for 2014.  Don't miss it!!!  Like the three prior years, it's the Saturday before the Bearded Lady .  The location and time haven't been officially announced but it's been held at Tavern on the Avenue in the past.  I've attended all three years and plan to make this my fourth.  To see tons of photos, click HERE or you can find posts from specific years using my Guide To Local Events page.

I enjoyed a nice 150-200 mile loop on the Sportster last Sunday.  I headed into Wisconsin and stopped briefly at the Nauti Hawg in Diamond Bluff to enjoy the view. Then I crossed back into Minnesota at Red Wing and headed towards Welch.  I rode down to Vasa, back to Welch, back to Vasa, and back to Welch before heading towards the cities.  Seriously, if you've never ridden that road, it's worth the trip. Once back in the cities, I took a bunch of photos on the University of Minnesota campus including right in front of the Weisman Art Museum . The campus has a nice view of downtown Minneapolis.

Here are just a few selected black-and-white versions of some photos that I posted yesterday.

After stopping by Dulono's Pizza and Moto Mania on Thursday, I took a ride around downtown Minneapolis.  The clouds were thick and it was starting to get dark. My first stop was the Stone Arch Bridge: Then I stopped by the I-35W bridge. Next stop was the Hennepin Avenue Bridge and the old Grain Belt beer sign. Finally, I just like the exterior of this building and I've found myself taking photos there a couple of times now.

Moto Mania is a brand new event that coincides with First Thursday bike night at Dulono's Pizza .  It's hosted by the local VFW .  This past Thursday was the very first one.  One day, when it's a huge event, people will be talking about how they've attended every one and were there from the beginning.  They'll be a bunch of damn liars because less than a dozen people showed.  Stupid weather. The VFW is on Lyndale and has a covered parking lot right next to The Herkimer , which is great because the cops seemed to love to write tickets for bikes parked illegally last year (see this post ). A classy duct tape sign pointed the way to bike parking. Here you can see the crowd. Ton-Up Minneapolis had a table set up promoting their 2nd Annual Rockers Spring Social on May 17th.  I went last year ( click here for posts) While there weren't a lot of bikes to look at, I liked all the ones that were there.  Here are just a few.
