Sweet Sixteen
Nope, this post has nothing to do with college basketball... the blog turns SIXTEEN years old today. The blog is old enough to drive by itself now. It could have gotten its learner's permit last year. Crazy. It's grown up so fast.
The past year was pretty van-heavy with Twin City Vans hosting the 52nd Van Nationals and other events. I made it to a decent number of bike shows and bike nights but really didn't ride a lot with no big trips or adventures and (again) zero progress on my chopper. I still had fun, but always like to be doing a mix of things. We'll see where and how this year goes.
Regarding the blog, I amazingly kept up posting photos and recaps of all the events I attended and published a few more shows from very deep in my photo archives. The big news was revitalizing my YouTube channel with ambient slideshows. I think they're kind of cool, but I know they're not for everyone, especially someone who just stumbles across them thanks to the YouTube algorithm serving them up.
"Why is there no sound? Why is there no video? When was this event? How would someone think this was a good idea? What is going on? Who would post this???"
To me, they provide a different way to look back and revisit past local events. The slideshows and the blog are perhaps the best organized and most easily accessible record of the custom motorcycle & van scene here in the Twin Cities over the past 16 years.
With 16 years of content and counting, Gophers and Cheese remains the undisputed best rodent & dairy themed motorcycle blog in the entire world... something I'm obviously very proud of. It's probably the world's best rodent & dairy themed van blog in the world too but I may need to do a little more research on that before I make such a bold assertion.
Thanks for reading all this nonsense and thanks for stopping by. See ya out there!
