Continuing coverage of the Show & Shine field at the 52nd Annual Van Nats...
Road Toad!
Wing twins!!! I see they riveted the top together. When I got my Cal-Jammer, the adhesive had let loose but I opted to remove and replace the adhesive versus drilling and riveting. This is certainly more permanent.
Such a cool vintage airbrush scene:
For a company-owned van, the
Slow & Low van was pretty well-done.
Goat!
Robert's:
I really like 4x4 lifted vans:
I had to step away from the show field to get the R/C races all set up. I made the ramps and obstacles and brought a ton of cones to lay out a track.
Once I was satisfied with the layout and I completed a few laps with my Lunchbox, I headed back. Races would take place after Show & Shine was over.
I think this van is just so cool. If I could have my pick of the show field and bring one home that wasn't mine, it would probably be this one:
Time for fisheye lens interior shots!
Moon Units had such a strong showing of vans. Purple Passion was no exception.
While a fisheye lens is never flattering, Aaron's shirt was amazing.
Viper Van:
Vandalized:
After leaving the show field, it was time for the RC races. There were 2 classes and 2 awards up for grabs. We had a lot of people come out and participate, which was great. We ran 2 groups from each glass. Top 2 from the first races competed in the finals for each class.
I didn't get a lot of photos because I was trying keep things semi-organized with help from others in the club. Big thanks to everyone who participated and everyone who helped be a lap counter/spotter or flip vans over when they crashed. Once it was done, there was a bit of a free-for-all and the building got really dusty. I hope people had fun. I know I still need to blow the dirt and dust out of my Lunchbox with an air compressor.
Lots more from Friday to go - we still have bands and Bright & Shine!
