Mama Tried Exhibit at the Harley Museum, August 2023

I was on a family road trip just over a week ago and we went to Wisconsin Dells and Chicago.  In between, we drove through Milwaukee and I wanted to stop by the Harley Davidson Museum and see their latest exhibit about the Mama Tried Show because I knew some people with bikes and other things on display.  Even though I haven't attended the show in a few years, Mama Tried and Flat Out Friday are awesome (see all my past blog posts about it here).

If you've never been to the museum before, it's really great and you can spend a lot of time there.  I've been a few times so I just focused on the special exhibits this trip.

There was a special exhibit called "My Papi has a Motorcycle" which was full of stories and illustrations of father and daughter from a book by the same name.

Behind glass, near the archive, you could see a bunch of Mama Tried artifacts.  While somewhat visible to the public, they're not presented like other exhibits in the museum.

The main Mama Tried exhibit, called "Mama Tried: Bringing it Together" represented the show pretty well.

This metal sign was made by Kevin Baas:

This photo of a photo features a few people local to the Twin Cities and if you look close, there's a Heavy shirt in there too.

This is Kevin Baas' bike:

This one is from Eric and Jenny Bass of Bass Cycles (not to be confused with Kevin Baas).  I usually run into them at a dirt or ice track where they're always riding old Harleys and haivng fun.

Lee Fealy and his family had race leathers on display:

The was another special exhibit called "Off Road".

In the gift shop, I spotted a Harley-Davidson Serial 1 e-bike on display.

The museum is always worth a stop if you're in the area!
