Twin City Vans Good Times Truck-in, June 2022 - Part 3

Here's the last big batch of photos I took at the 2022 Twin City Vans Good Times Truck-In.  Of course, we should start with airbrushed murals...

This carving is based on a piece of artwork by Shawn Dickinson, who drew the Gophers and Cheese logo.

As the sun started to set, the sky got more and more dramatic.

In case you were having motorcycle withdrawals, here's a Grateful Dead themed Sporty.  I think one of the guys in the band rode it there.

I took home 2 awards, one for my Dodge, "Best in Class"  Which class?  Not sure, but it was nice to have the van recognized.  You should not be surprised to learn Mystic Traveler took Best in Show.  I also (narrowly) won the RC race against Jim and Shane with my Tamiya Lunchbox so I got a plaque for that.

Judging of vans during the day is called the "show & shine" but there's also a context at night called the "bright & shine".

I had my video fireplace going, red LEDs, and battery-operated tealights in the brass eagles but the darker vibe and doom metal coming through the speakers were heavily overshadowed by bright, loud insanity of the vans around it.  That said, I wouldn't change a thing about my van.

I'll finish up with a van I visited many times to refill my red solo cup...

If you have the opportunity to go to a local or national truck-in, go!  It was a good time.  I'm really hoping to make it to the Nats next year.
