Full Tilt Boogie, Sept 2021 - Part 1
Full Tilt Boogie is always my favorite show of the year and it was the only motorcycle show I attended this year. It started as a chopper show and has evolved into a chopper, vintage motorcycle, and van show. I'm still sitting on tons of photos from Full Tilt 2017-2019 that I need to sort through and post. Maybe one day... 2020 was the only year I missed the show. Rather than wait and (maybe) post photos years after the event, how about we jump into photos that I actually took yesterday!?!? But wait, before I share photos of the show, I have to share photos of the group ride to the show. While I didn't attend the pre-party Friday night or camping last night, I did wake up early on Saturday to join the organized ride to the show. We met up at a small park just in northeast Minneapolis. I rode my '04 Sportster. It's coming up on 15 years of me owning this bike. I really need to finish my chopper project so I can actually ride a chopper to a chopper show... maybe this winter. Anyway, I've rambled on enough...PHOTOS!!!
A very special treat was Michael Lichter was there to take photos of the ride and the show. If you don't know, he's a well-known motorcycle photographer. It sounds like he's currently doing work for Easyriders and Dennis Kirk, along with other magazines around the world. I've seen him in Milwaukee at Mama Tried and he stands out with all his gear and his positive, friendly attitude.
First stop was Dayton Bar & Grill. While we were riding between stops, Michael was sitting backwards on the passenger seat of a bike, taking riding photos of everyone he could. People who organized the show and anyone riding choppers were prioritized of course, but I was thrilled when he did make it to where I was in the line and he took some riding photos of me. I hope he shares one or two but he told the crowd at the park it might be a while as he's behind in his editing which is normal late in the riding season. I certainly know how that feels but at least he seems to get paid for it. :)
After Dayton, the next stop was Hayes' Public House in Buffalo, MN.
That was the last stop before the show. Look for photos from the show tomorrow and the next day!
