Great River Road - Champlin to Monticello
Inspired by my recent trip up County Road 12 to Dayton, MN, I decided to explore a little further today. I followed the Great River Road from Champlin to just past Monticello before turning around. I took Cty Rd 12 to Cty Hwy 42 to MN-101 to Cty Rd 39 to Cty Hwy 75.

The ride is nice. It's a mildly curvy through mostly farmland. The speed limits are good (50-55 mph) but drop significantly (30 mph) through the towns. Most of the time you can't actually see the Mississippi River. An exception was this spot just south of Monticello.

On my way back, I snapped a few shots in front of these barns.
Heading back south, I made a brief stop at Dayton Bar & Grill. Overall, it was nice little ride along a small section of a really big river.
