Ambient Slideshows, now on YouTube

Do blogs and websites require too much clicking and scrolling?  Do you tire of watching videos with moving people & objects and having people yell at you to "smash that like button and subscribe"?  Would you prefer to relive the golden age of digital photo frames like it was the early 2000s?  Do you want that digital photo frame to be filled with cool motorcycles and vans?  Do you yearn for a little peace & quiet, or maybe just want to listen to your own music instead of some royalty-free and/or AI-generated knock-off?  Well, get on board the ambient slideshow train!  Hear me out...

I hadn't touched my YouTube channel in years, but I got asked to put together some slideshows of van events for the Twin City Vans Christmas Party earlier this month.  All I did was take photos I posted here and put them into video slideshow form and played them on a cheap projector at the party.  I thought it was a nice way to revisit old photos and blogposts in a way that requires no clicking or scrolling, just a new photo every 5 seconds.  I decided to make them available on YouTube and will probably keep adding to them.

Even better, I've organized the slideshow videos into playlists so with one click you can turn your TV, tablet, or phone (or all 3 simultaneously, go nuts!) into an early-2000s photo frame and enjoy HOURS of non-stop Gophers and Cheese content in back-to-back slideshows with zero sound... just like you always dreamed of.

Ambient chopper & van slideshows... the latest YouTube trend no one asked for.  Like and subscribe... or don't...  I really don't care and I'm certainly not going to yell at you about it in every video I post.

Twin City Vans Autumn Cruise, October 2025

Almost 2 months ago, on October 4th (10-4), Twin City Vans took a cruise along the river between Minnesota and Wisconsin.  We met up in Point Douglas Park on the Minnesota side before crossing into Prescott and heading south on the Wisconsin side.  It was a beautiful day, and we got a good turnout of members and friends.

I had my '78 Dodge of course.

We're rollin'!

I love to ride this area on my motorcycles but driving in a van convoy is pretty fun too.

We stopped in Diamond Bluff at the Nauti Hawg.

We also stopped briefly in Bay City.

Luna!

Rolling into Maiden Rock.

At this point, I had to split as my wife and I had concert tickets that night.  The larger group hung out for a while and some ended up camping, I think.  It was a fun day for sure.  I snapped a few Polaroids along the way too:

Now I'm just patiently waiting until spring to do it all again...
