Ma Rad's 17th Annual Rumble on the Deck Chopper Show took place on Thursday, July 13th, 2012 at the Freight House Restaurant in Stillwater, MN.
It was my third year attending. Unfortunately, I was sick recently and still didn't feel 100% so I couldn't stay too long. The Freight House was packed but, in my opinion, the bikes on display were not up to the same level as the last two years. Don't get me wrong, there were still really nice bikes on display and in the parking lot but maybe the threat of rain kept some people home. Maybe people were holding out for the Full Tilt or Bearded Lady shows. I'm really not sure.
I like Rumble on the Deck and definitely recommend going but find it a difficult show to take pictures at because the deck gets so packed with people and bikes. I find myself taking more detailed close-ups than full-bike photos. For example, here's a beautiful vintage Harley...
... and a vintage Triumph. I really love this style of speedo.
I thought this hardtailed 2000 Harley/Buell was really cool.
Rumble on the Deck is put on by Tom Rad of Rad Paint. Here is a beautiful tank with Rat Fink artwork. What was 100% unintentional (I promise) was what I caught in the reflection in the gas cap. Ladies, beware of wearing skirts when there's chrome on the ground.
I'll show you some of the awesome bikes in the parking lot in Part 2. Come on back.
