Anyway, after posting some questions about my recent frustrations with my carb cover replacement, a fellow member offered to send a set of stainless steel socket head screws to me for free! I gave him my address, half expecting them to never show up but sure enough, they arrived. It just goes to show there are some really nice people out there.
I used four of them to secure my new carb cover. I like socket head screws a lot better than phillips or torx as they are less likely to strip.
